BOARD OF DIRECTORS
   
Magdaleno B. Albarracin, Jr. is the Chairman Emeritus of Cement Manufacturers' Association of the Philippines, and currently the President & CEO of Union Cement Corporation and Bacnotan Industrial Park Corporation.
He attained his Doctorate degree of Business Administration at Harvard University in 1971. He holds two Masters degree: one in Business Administration (University of the Philippines, 1964) and another in Science in Electrical Engineering (University of Michigan, 1958).
   
   
Renato Sunico is currently the Chairman of the CeMAP Board of Directors. He also occupies top positions in the following corporations:

  • Mindanao Portland Cement Corporation - Chairman
  • Makati Skyline, Inc. - Chairman
  • Fortune Cement Corporation - President
  • Southeast Asia Cement Holdings Inc. - President and Director

  • Amon Trading Corporation - Director
Mr. Sunico is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of the Philippines. He holds a Masters degree in Business Management from Asian Institute of Management.
He was the former Vice President and Treasurer of Amon Trading Corporation and Senior Vice-President for Finance of Republic Cement Corporation.
   
   

Ernesto M. Ordoñez is President of Cement Manufacturers' Association of the Philippines. He has been a Cabinet secretary for Presidential Flagship Programs and Projects and an undersecretary for 16 years with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA). He also served as a Governor of the Board of Investments, Chair of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines, Commissioner of the Export Processing Zone Authority, and Director of the National Housing Authority. He also worked as a senior executive at Xerox Corporation in the United States for seven years. He holds a PhD in business administration from New York University, an MA in administrative sciences from Yale University with a summa cum laude average, and an AB in economics from Ateneo de Manila University where he served as its university student council president.

   
Robert F. Malilin is the Vice President for Strategic Planning of Northern Cement Corporation. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronic Communication Engineering in Mindanao State University. He finished his Masters in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines and then becoming a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer.
He also used to be in the project and operations management team of Fortune Cement Corporation, Mindanao Portland Cement and Asturias Cement corporations.

Sergio Menendez joined CEMEX in 1993 and since then has occupied various key positions in the Technical, Logistics, Commercial and Planning areas of the Company. He moved to Asia in 2001 serving as CEMEX’s Planning Manager for Indonesia and then, in 2003, as CEMEX Thailand’s Director for Planning and Logistics. In 2005, he was promoted as Vice President for Planning of the CEMEX Philippines Group of Companies. Sergio Menendez then served as Global Director of Commercial Process Design at CEMEX’s Headquarters in Mexico before being appointed as President of the CEMEX Philippines Group of Companies. He has an Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education and an MBA from the Stanford University in California.
 
   
IAN S. THACKWRAY obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Oxford University in England. After graduation, he changed track and qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London and Brussels, working with Price Waterhouse from 1979 – 1985. In 1985, he started what eventually became a 21 year career with Dow Corning initially as European Area Controller. He held a variety of management and business leadership positions in Dow Corning in Belgium, France, USA, Japan and China. Prior to transferring to Holcim Philippines, Inc., he was Dow Corning’s President for both Asia Pacific Area and Greater China.
