A cement firm in San Fernando, Cebu extended again its community service to its neighbors through the medical mission held last Nov. 24, 2007.
Almost 600 residents in Barangay Tinubdan, San Fernando, Cebu and the neighboring areas availed of the free consultation, medicines and vitamins.
The medical mission was conducted by Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) at the Tinubdan Elementary School in San Fernando through the efforts of the school officials.
It was in cooperation with the Solid Earth Development Corporation.
Six doctors, including TCPI company-physician Dr. Ildebrando Estella, rendered free consultation.
Tinubdan Barangay Capt. Hon. Remegio S. Alicaway, Jr. led barangay officials and barangay health workers who were also present to assist in the activity.
Common illnesses encountered in the medical mission included hypertension, muscle pains, upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, rhinitis and acute gastritis on adults as well as impetigo and cough on children.
